Benefits of an Assets tracking system
0
Many of you out there are already familiar with the benefits of an asset tracking program, but for anyone who isn’t familiar or may need a refresher here are a couple of the big ones.
- Maximize the use of existing assets by being able to track valuable information about them, i.e. maintenance or warranty information.
- Saving money by eliminating unnecessary equipment purchases because you can’t locate a piece of equipment.
- Potential tax savings or reduction on insurance premiums attributed to tracking depreciation or correct valuation of existing assets.

Lockout Tag Out Procedures
0Visit CentennialAssociates.com for more information on this topic.
Every company is concerned for the safety of its employees particularly when it comes to those performing servicing and maintenance activities of equipment. Necessary procedures should be in place to reduce and eliminate risk. Only trained, authorized employees can lockout/tagout. But first a company needs to determine all the isolating devices/equipment that require LOTO to ensure effective control of hazardous energy, by location, type and magnitude of the energy and required controls.
Centennial Associates, Inc. has worked with customers to do just that locate and identify assets requiring a LOTO procedure; bar code tagged each asset while gathering data for make, model number and other identifying information to build on a maintenance management system.
We can help other companies that are faced with the same task. If you know of a company or your company is interested in instituting a Lockout/Tagout program please call 585-671-0544 to discuss our services.
CMMS- Computerized Maintenance Management System
0visit centennialassociates.com for more information on CMMS
This information is intended to assist maintenance employees work more efficiently (What machines need maintenance, and where the parts are for these machines that need repair) and to help owners make good decisions (for example, if the machine you have is worth fixing, or is it more cost effective to replace it). System information may also be used to verify compliance.
This database of maintenance information may be used by any organization that must perform maintenance on equipment, assets and property. Some inventory systems focus on particular industry sectors (e.g. vehicles or health care devices).
Fixed asset inventory systems can produce status reports and documents giving details or summaries of maintenance activities. The more sophisticated the package, the more analysis facilities are available.

First, we come into your place of work and inventory everything inside and out that is an asset. ie- rooftop air conditioners, printing presses, computers, copy machines. Basically anything that’s worth any money and may need regular maintenance.
Second, we input all these items into a database, worth, depreciation, maintenance, phone numbers to call if something gets broken, etc…
Finally, each asset has a barcode attached to it that can be scanned to retrieve any information that the database has.
This enables employees to work more efficiently because they can also go into the database and see where an asset is located on the company property.
Let’s take Kodak Park for instance. This is an industrial complex that stretches over thousands of acres in Rochester, NY. If an employee has a problem with a copy machine in one building and they need a replacement while this one is being repaired a facilities worker can scan the barcode on the machine to not only see where to go to find the parts to fix the machine, but he can locate with a touch of a button where there is a machine that isn’t being used so that the office has a copier in the mean time.
